Las Ramblas are a bustling showcase of city life with well-deserved world fame. Set off from Plaza de Cataluña and stroll right down to Mirador de Colon at the port. Las Ramblas is lined with shops and cafés, while landmarks such as Palau de la Virreina, the Boqueria market, the Liceu opera house and Plaza Real are all musts.
On the right-hand side of Las Ramblas are the Raval district, where you’ll find the find the CCCB and MACBA contemporary art galleries. Other highlights include Antoni Gaudi’s Palacio Güell and the Iglesia de Betlem church, one of the few examples of Baroque architecture in the city.
