How to get to Hotel Catedral Barcelona?

We are right in the heart of Barcelona, in the most historically rich neighbourhood in the city, the Gothic Quarter, and a pedestrian area. You’ll find us between La Rambla and Via Laietana, next to the Cathedral, and a 5-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya. A wonderful starting point for exploring the city on foot, cycling or using public transport.

From Barcelona Airport

Taxi

Approximate cost: 35€ – 45€. Approximate journey time: 30 minutes.

Aerobus (lines A1 and A2)

Approximate cost: 7.25€. Stop (first and last): Plaça de Catalunya, located in front of the El Corte Inglés shopping centre. The hotel is a 5-minute walk away. Walk down Portal de l’Àngel, continue along Carrer dels Arcs to Plaça de la Catedral and turn left into Carrer dels Capellans.

The Aerobus service runs 24 hours a day with a frequency of 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Approximate journey time: 35 minutes.

Train (line R2)

The R2 Nord line departs every 30 minutes from the airport train station and reaches the Barcelona metropolitan area in about 20-25 minutes. The first train leaves the Aeroport station at 5.42am and the last one at 11.38pm.

The Barcelona airport train station is 200 m from the terminal.

The airport train stop is located in T2, so if your flight arrives in T1, you will have to go to the other terminal. The two buildings are linked by a free shuttle bus which runs every 5 – 10 minutes. The shuttle buses run 24/7.

Single ticket is €4.90. There is also the option of buying a T-Casual Aeroport ticket, which includes 10 1 Zone journeys and costs 12.15 €.

Metro (line L9 SUD)

Approximate cost: 5.70 €. Station: Zona Universitària. Here you will have to change to line L3 and continue to Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is a 5-minute walk away. Go down Portal de l’Àngel, continue along Carrer dels Arcs to Plaça de la Catedral and turn left onto Carrer dels Capellans. The journey takes 45 – 50 minutes.

IF YOU COME IN TO BARCELONA VIA CARRER PAU CLARIS OR GRAN VIA:

We recommend turning onto Carrer Pau Claris, which becomes Via Laietana once you cross the Plaça d’Urquinaona. Then turn right onto Carrer Comtal and continue straight on along Carrer Magdalenes and Carrer Ripoll until you reach Carrer Sagristans, where you will find the entrance to our establishment. Although the signs indicate that turning is prohibited, vehicles authorised to access the hotel may do so.

IF YOU COME IN TO BARCELONA VIA THE RONDA LITORAL FROM THE AIRPORT:

Join the C-31 from Sant Boi and continue on the B-10 (Ronda Litoral) towards Barcelona. Take exit 22 (Barceloneta/Marina) and follow Ronda Litoral to Carrer del Doctor Aiguader. Go up Carrer de la Marina to Avinguda Meridiana and turn left to continue along Carrer d’Ausiàs Marc to Plaça Urquinaona. Go down Via Laietana and turn right onto Carrer Comtal. Then continue along Carrer Magdalenes and Carrer Ripoll until you reach Carrer Sagristans, where you will need to turn right to access the car park and reserved area of the Hotel Barcelona Catedral.

Although the signs indicate that turning is prohibited, vehicles going to the hotel are legally allowed to make this turn.
